Top Baseball Prospect Andrew Heaney Was Traded Twice In One Day And Had A Perfect Tweet About It

Prior to Wednesday, starting pitcher Andrew Heaney had been considered by many to be the Marlins top-rated prospect. In fact, MLB.com currently ranks him #18 overall in baseball. On Wednesday afternoon, the Marlins traded him and 3 others to the Dodgers in exchange for Dee Gordon and Dan Haren. I’d consider that quite the haul for the Dodgers, and certainly a “sell high” on Gordon, who fangraphs projects as only a 1.1 WAR player for 2015.

But apparently the Dodgers were not done dealing, as they quickly shipped Heaney to the Angels just a couple hours later in exchange for Howie Kendrick.

It was obviously a whirlwind day for the young pitching prospect, but you can’t say he didn’t have a sense of humor about it. On Wednesday night, he published what should be a candidate for Athlete Tweet of the Week.

I can’t imagine what the memories could have been for him, but if it were me, they’d be “sweet, can’t wait to get a Dodger dog” followed by “damn, no Dodger dog”.

Anybody know if the Angels sell a 10 inch hot dog?
