Prepare yourself for one of the most SEC stories of all-time. A shoe store employee in Baton Rouge told police he would rather go to jail than cooperate in an investigation about game-used gloves and cleats from an LSU game.
According to police, 25-year-old Fletcher Sanders sold the memorabilia on eBay after it was provided to him by an LSU player. When asked to name the player, Sanders politely declined.
Sanders told police that he sold the gear for an LSU football player. But when an investigator asked Sanders to name the football player, Sanders clammed up, according to the report.
The officer, in turn, told Sanders that he would be arrested if he did not cooperate, the report says.
“Do what you have to do,” Sanders responded, according to the report. “I am not going to be responsible for ruining someone’s career.”
So they threw his ass in jail for principal to theft and possession of stolen things. Apparently players don’t own the equipment, the university does. Which, haha, college football is such a hypocritical sh*t-show.
Sanders is out on $3,000 bail. He can hold his head high knowing he never snitched. Geaux Tigers b*tch.
