Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Anderson “The Spider” Silva has allegedly failed a drug test. Silva, the long time UFC middleweight champion failed a pre-fight drug test for two anabolic steroids on January 9th in the lead up to his UFC 183 main event fight with Nick Diaz.
Silva managed to pass his January 19th test, but according to MMA Junkie, Silva has failed a second test. The exact date of the test and the substance discovered are not yet known.
Multiple sources close to the situation on Wednesday confirmed to MMAjunkie that Silva failed a second drug test in relation to UFC 183. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the matter.
Anderson Silva, along with other drug test failures Nick Diaz, Hector Lombard, and Ashlee Evans-Smith will all be at a Nevada Athletic Commission meeting to go over these issues on February 17th.
