Alright, to be clear, videos that tell you how to pick up girls are awful. They’ve been awful since the inception of the internet, really. I have never laughed at a single one, mostly because I enjoy things that make me laugh, not things that make me want to put my fist through a monitor.
So I was genuinely surprised at this one where a guy uses one-line quotes from Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch to pick up girls. For those unaware, Lynch often says less than five or six words at his press conferences. He hates the media, and he does everything he can to say as little as possible. The video captures that perfectly.
It’s brilliant in its simplicity and tremendous in its execution. “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” didn’t necessarily work for young Alex, but “shout out to my real Africans” did, and that’s just amazing.
