Conor McGregor Played Darts With Jose Aldo’s Photo In Brazil

Conor McGregor is a lovable scamp, unless you happen to be fighting him, in which case he becomes a gigantic pain in your arse. McGregor’s nickname is Notorious, and that’s a good description of his smack talking skills. He legit mindf*cked his last two opponents and threw them off their game before they even stepped into the cage with him. Now he’s doing his best to do the same to featherweight champ Jose Aldo.

The UFC is putting on a major publicity tour for the Jose Aldo / Conor McGregor title fight at UFC 189 on July 11th, with the first stop being Rio in Aldo’s home country of Brazil.  So it should be no surprise that one of the first thing McGregor did upon arriving in Rio was find bar packed full of Brazilians to enjoy a game of darts with Jose Aldo’s picture taped to the board. Conor plays through a ton of boos and hisses, stopping only to take his shirt off and laugh at the crowd as he continued to pepper the board with shots.

In the past, mouthy UFC stars have been hesitant to promote fights in Brazil due to the country’s reputation, deserved or not, as being slightly unhinged when it comes to sports. The UFC kept Chael Sonnen under tight security when he promoted his fights with Anderson Silva and he even had his own bodyguards during a coaching stint against Wanderlei Silva for The Ultimate Fighter.

But Conor McGregor is made of sterner stuff than that. He comes from Ireland, which has a history of violence that stacks up pound for pound with Brazil. That being said, disrespect will get you to a Brazilian hospital faster than an ambulance. Let’s all hope Conor’s actions don’t get him stabbed before he gets to face Aldo in July.
