Watch A Hockey Player Channel Marshawn Lynch In An Interview

I get it, Dustin. We all get it. Your Winnipeg Jets were already down 2-0 in your series against the Anaheim Ducks, and Corey Perry scored a go-ahead goal right in front of you, so you were frustrated. Maybe even pissed off. But you do not have to resort to this kind of dangerous idiocy.

Skating up behind someone and shoving their head into the ice somehow was only good enough for a minor penalty, even though Byfuglien was already suspended for four games for crosschecking earlier this month. Referees shouldn’t be expected to factor things like that into their in-game decisions, but the league office deciding not to punish him after the fact was a shock.

When talking to reporters today, Dustin didn’t apologize, or attempt to explain away his actions, or even deny his part in the incident. Instead, he said the words “stick together as a team” a lot, sometimes adding a word to the beginning or end, and sometimes switching up the order — after all, he had to put his own spin on it or Marshawn Lynch could have sued him for copyright infringement (though he’s got his hands full there).
