Check Out This Youth Baseball Player’s Incredible Leap Over The Catcher To Score

The baserunner you see in the video above hurtling over the catcher to score a run is Devon Avedissian. This young man is part of an under-11 team competing in a wooden bat baseball tournament in San Marcos, Texas.

During the play, Avedissian, who was on third, raced home to score after the opposing pitcher threw a wild pitch. Following a sharp ricochet off the backstop, the catcher found himself in a perfect position to make the tag, but Avedissian had other ideas, busting out his best Willie Mays Hayes impression from Major League 2.

Afterwards, even the adults seemed confused by what they had just witnessed, with one coach or fan from the opposing team yelling at the catcher to tag him. But by then, the ump had already indicated Avedissian was safe, and he was practically back in the dugout high-fiving teammates, posting a social media status update, and accepting a SportsCenter interview request, probably.

Sometimes, you just have to tip your cap.
