Rookie Chris Heston Becomes The Fourth SF Giant To Throw A No-Hitter In Four Years

Chris Heston was the latest San Francisco Giants pitcher to throw a no-hitter during Tuesday’s 5-0 win over the Mets. In all, Heston struck out 11 batters and walked none on 110 pitches—but hit three, making us seriously question whether the term “no-hitter” really applies here. In any case, as Randy Scott of ESPN noted on Twitter, Heston is the fourth Giants pitcher to throw a no-hitter in four years (Tim Lincecum threw two in 2013 and ’14 and Matt Cain threw a perfect game in ’12). He’s the 17th Giants pitcher of all time to throw a no-hitter and the 22nd rookie in the modern era to do it. You can watch Heston’s final out of the game in the video at the top of the post.
