Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman appears in ESPN Magazine’s “Body Issue,” which required plenty of naked acrobatics. The stunning final shoot appears daunting to any civilian, but 21-year-old Raisman had no problem getting her kit off for naked handstands. She spoke with CBS Boston about how much she enjoyed the shoot. Sure, Raisman was nervous at first, but then she considered how hard she works for dat body. Her seven-hour daily workouts and healthy diet gave her the confidence to tackle the shoot:

“I’m pretty comfortable, so I liked it. I thought it was really fun. At 21 years old, I feel the most confident that I have in my whole life. If they asked maybe a couple of years ago, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to do it. But I really, really enjoyed it. It was a great experience and it felt good to feel that comfortable with my body. Not saying I’m perfect. I have insecurities like everyone else, but you kind of forget that you’re naked. The shoot was like six hours long because I’m such a perfectionist, so by the end of the day I was just so comfortable I could have walked to Starbucks naked.”

Raisman goes on to say how pleased she was with the final shoot, although she admits biting chalk-covered nails until the photos appeared online. ESPN Magazine reserves the privilege of final photo selection, and Raisman said waiting for the issue was much harder than posing naked. This fear is understandable, especially after doing naked mid-air splits for all to see.
