Here’s A Cuban Cyclist Getting A Gigantic Splinter At The Pan-Am Games

Giant splinters should be the weapon of choice for the next great comic book villain. On Saturday, Cuban cyclist Lisandra Guerra crashed on an indoor cycling course. When she got up to dust herself off, she found an enormous splinter in her right arm. This isn’t the first time a cyclist has had a splinter issue on an indoor court. Former Olympic cyclist Curt Harnett told a tale about his unfortunate splinter incident:

Harnett, a three-time Olympic medal winner in cycling, fell while training on an outdoor track. When he got up, he saw splinters had torn through his shorts, leaving him, “a step away from my boys being cocktail olives.”

Guerra should leave the Pan-American games with some sort of award for her bravery. She handled that monstrous thing like a champ.
