In the main event of UFC 189, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor took on Chad “Money” Mendes for the interim featherweight title. After a back-and-forth first round, Mendes used his wrestling to neutralize McGregor for most of the second round. However, with under one minute to go, McGregor landed a huge punch, dropping Chad. Conor swarmed and referee Herb Dean stopped the contest, making McGregor the new interim champ.

As for the regular featherweight champ, Jose Aldo, McGregor had some words for him during the post-fight interview. Stay tuned.
