Watch This 10-Year-Old Girl Confuse The Hell Out Of NFL Stars

It’s been 10 years since NBC started broadcasting Sunday Night Football games, so you might hear a thing or two about it when tuning in Sunday nights this year. It begins with Isabella Dayyeah, an adorable and precocious 10-year-old who was invited to interview some of the NFL’s biggest stars like Odell Beckham, Jr., Dez Bryant, Clay Matthews and others.

The interview started out innocently enough, with the standard kid fare questions of game-day food and favorite superpowers (ODB has the creepy answer, as if Mel Gibson didn’t explain the problems with that), and in perhaps the most pure example of “gotcha” journalism, Isabella dropped the hammer with actual questions about the intricacies of the NFL. The players’ responses were not quite as intelligent as the questions:

Football reporters should be thanking Isabella because, even though her appearance is disarming, her insightful questions — like, “Do you think larger and faster linebackers are causing more teams to use a 3-4 defense?” That’s a tough one! — are largely met with blank stares and shrugs and “Good question.” Now the guys who get paid to ask the questions can tell the armchair journalists criticizing reporters for lobbing softballs that it ain’t that easy. Athletes are more likely to spout platitudes about football being a team game in a next-man-up league than they are to talk X’s and O’s. Except Antonio Brown. We see you, Antonio, and we look forward to seeing your insights dumbed down in 10 years on CBS.
