Arian Foster Will Reportedly Undergo Surgery For A Groin Injury

Training camp has been under way for less than a week, but the Houston Texans already find themselves in a dire situation. Arian Foster suffered a serious groin injury that will require surgery, according to the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain. The timetable is still vague, but the Texans are bracing themselves for a Foster-less start to the season.

Foster suffered a similar injury last season that caused him to miss two games. His injury comes at an unfortunate time for the Texans. They’re quarterback situation is in a flux with Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett competing for the starting position. Foster was expected to carry the load to ease the burden on the new quarterback. Foster has been one of the most productive running backs since 2010, but injuries continue to mount up against him.

The Texans running-back depth behind Foster leaves much to be desired. Depending on Alfred Blue and Chris Polk to take on a bulk of the carries does not look great for the Texans. Look for the Texans to bring in some veteran running backs to camp.

Foster is a really good dude; here’s hoping his recovery goes smoothly.
