Hey fight fans, we don’t have a UFC event this week, but Bellator 141 is here, and it looks pretty cool. Let’s see what’s going on in Temecula, California, on Friday night.
The prelims will begin at 7:45PM ET on Spike.com, and while the Bellator prelims usually get glossed over, there are some solid fights here on the undercard. Ilima MacFarlane is taking on Maria Rios. If you don’t know who MacFarlane is, perhaps you’ll remember the time she executed a soccer mom.
The prelims also feature #2 ranked featherweight Marloes Coenen as she faces Arlene Blencowe. The main card starts at 9PM ET on Spike TV. The first fight on TV is a heavyweight contest, as Josh Burns welcomes Justin Wren back to the world of MMA. Wren took a five-year hiatus from combat sports, much of which was spent in the Congo where he helped the Pygmy peoples.
Also on the main card are a pair of excellent lightweight bouts. The co-main event features Patricky “Pitbull” Freire taking on Saad “Assassin” Awad in what could be a possible title eliminator bout. In the main event, former UFC star Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard meets Brandon “Cold Roll” Girtz.
