Watch Jets’ Top Pick Leonard Williams Record A Safety With His First Sack

That’s one way to introduce yourself to the NFL. In the Jets’ second preseason game of 2015, first-round draft pick Leonard Williams blew past what appeared to be a busted blocking assignment by Falcons guard James Stone and sacked quarterback T.J. Yates in the end zone. The safety gave the Jets their first points of the game.

Leonard, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, absolutely tore it up on Friday night. He had four tackles, three of which went for a loss, a sack and two quarterback hits. In May, Williams agreed to a four-year, $18.6 million contract, which was fully guaranteed.

It would appear, if this preseason game is any indication, that he’s starting to live up to his draft ranking and contract numbers.
