Soccer is an intense sport and it’s not uncommon to see players get into it with one another, but yeah, this a bit of an overreaction from Lionel Messi, especially since it’s a friendly match between Barcelona and Roma.

There was clear contact between Messi and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa beforehand and Messi responded by head-butting Yanga-Mbiwa and placing his hand on Yanga-Mbiwa’s throat. How Messi and Yanga-Mbiwa didn’t get red cards is beyond us.

Then, adding insult to Roma’s injury, Messi scored seven minutes later. Barcelona would go on to win 3-0.
