Watch Mike Aviles’ Twin Daughters Throw Out An Inspirational First Pitch

Cleveland Indians infielder Mike Aviles’ daughter Adriana is currently in recovery from leukemia (according to Cleveland’s broadcast team, she’s doing quite well), and the Indians have done an excellent job supporting the Aviles family through their ordeal.

First, Aviles’ teammates shaved their heads to help raise awareness and show their support for Adriana. More recently, Cleveland’s front office refused all trade requests for Aviles to prevent uprooting his family amidst Adriana’s treatments. (The Cleveland Clinic, where Adriana is being treated, is one of the most well-regarded hospitals in the country.) On Thursday, they gave Adriana and her twin sister Maya a wonderful moment by inviting them to throw out the first pitch of their game against the New York Yankees.

Of course, Adriana and Maya both turned on the charm, and it was a great moment. Honestly though, the best part of the whole video might have been Fox Sports Ohio reporter Andre Knott, forced to introduce the segment while being wrapped up in ACE bandages by Indians pitcher Danny Salazar. Salazar looks pretty pleased with himself for humiliating this poor man who just wants to talk about a child fighting cancer. Shame on Danny, and shame on us, because we definitely laughed.
