Here’s Drone Footage Of A 10-Foot Shark Swimming Terrifyingly Close To Surfers

Ah, Pismo Beach, California. It’s not the iconic destination it was in the ’50s and ’60s (famous enough for its clams that Bugs Bunny knew about it), but it’s still a gorgeous location for surfing, as this drone footage proves. Look at that clear blue water, soundtracked by some nice ambient music. So calming, so relaxi-SHARK! WE GOT A SHARK!

It’s downright chilling that the music drops out the second this apparently 10-foot long shark shows up on screen, taking a leisurely swim near some unsuspecting surfers. While it’s clearly begging for the music from Jaws, the total silence leaves you alone with your thoughts — and those thoughts are probably, “There’s a shark! Get away from the shark, you poor unsuspecting fools!” — not unlike the awfully tense silence from No Country for Old Men.

Luckily, the shark must have just eaten (but WHAT DID IT EAT?!?!), because it doesn’t show much interest in the humans nearby. It’s pretty good drone work, and if you stick around to the end, you get to see the artist, right before his dad(?) catches the drone. Watch your hands, dad.
