Trent Richardson Chose Poorly During The Raiders’ First Preseason Game

Trent Richardson was a great college running back. In 2011, he rushed for 1,679 yards and 21 touchdowns. He often used his power to explode through holes and his speed to pull away from defensive backs. Many people thought Richardson was a stud in the making at the NFL level. He was taken third overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 draft.

Fast forward a few years and Richardson is on his third NFL team (Oakland Raiders). The knock on Richardson, of course, has been his inability to find holes, to cutback when the defense snuffs a play out.

This clip of him during Friday night’s preseason game has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. It perfectly sums up his NFL career.

In fairness to Richardson, the play is probably designed to go right with the pulling guard leading the way. But, you know, adapt and adjust or something.
