Aaron Williams Was Taken Off The Field By Ambulance After This Scary Neck Injury

Buffalo Bills defensive back Aaron Williams was involved in a scary incident during Sunday’s game that required him to be taken off the field by ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital.

During the third quarter of the Bills’ week two matchup against the Patriots, Williams dove in an attempt to stop New England wide receiver Julian Edelman short of the end zone. As he did, Williams’ helmet appeared to make contact with Edelman’s backside, sending his head jerking back.

Here’s another look at the play:

Initial reports indicate Williams suffered a neck injury, and a scary looking one at that. Williams laid motionless on the field at Ralph Wilson Stadium for quite some time before being immobilized and taken off the field by emergency services.

Hopefully the damage is limited and Williams avoids serious injury. We’ll update as more information becomes available.

Update: Thankfully, it looks like Williams will be okay.
