Watch This Japanese Beagle Set The Guinness World Record For Catching Balls With Its Paws

In more proof that you can set a Guinness World Record for just about anything if you do enough research, a japanese beagle named Purin has now set the world record for most soccer balls caught between its paws in one minute.

Nine-year-old Purin showed off her handle by grabbing 14 soccer balls from her owner in her paws in just 60 seconds which officially puts her in the ranks of the Guinness record books. The dog’s owner, Makoto Kumagai had a pretty simple explanation for how he discovered Purin’s talent:

“First of all I discovered that Purin was good at using her paws, and then I began throwing things at her to see if she could catch them and eventually I realized she was particularly good at catching balls with her paws.”

Well, okay then.

How Kumagai thought of seeking out if Purin’s abilities was world-record worthy is still unknown, but Purin can now take her rightful place in the Dog Athletes Hall of Fame alongside superstars such as: the samurai sword wielding beagle, the surfer dogs, the dog who slide tackled a German professional soccer player, the trampolinist dog , and of course, the dog who scored a goal in Argentina.
