The Eagles Are Off To A Horrible Start And People Are Pretty Upset With Chip Kelly

There were a lot of questions this offseason about whether or not Chip Kelly was a crazy genius, or just crazy. After he was given the reigns over the Eagles’ personnel decisions, he made some highly questionable moves like bringing in Sam Bradford, swapping LeSean McCoy for DeMarco Murray and letting go of players such as Jeremy Maclin and Evan Mathis.

No one really knew, though, how the Eagles would be until they stepped onto the field for Week 1. Perhaps, the thought was, Kelly knows something we don’t, and there must be a method to his madness. After all, he’s been a successful coach everywhere he went and has gone a solid 20-12 as the Eagles’ coach in his first two years.

Well, after just two weeks, the jig might be up for Kelly, as his team has started the season with back-to-back losses to the Falcons and Cowboys. This week particularly, Philadelphia looked completely lost in their defeat against Dallas, managing only 226 total yards and a paltry seven rushing yards, the fewest amount for the Eagles since 1961.

And Kelly’s big offseason acquisitions? Not exactly working out. Bradford has been below-average in his first two games and could hardly be considered an upgrade from what Nick Foles did last season. Murray has a grand total of 11 yards in two games as he has struggled to do much of anything with a terrible offensive line in front of him. Linebacker Kiko Alonso, who Kelly acquired in the trade for McCoy, suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s game, and cornerback Byron Maxwell has been dreadful thus far in a Philly uniform.

With all of the Eagles’ struggles, people are beginning to seriously question Kelly and his decision-making skills, taking to Twitter to express their frustrations.

The Eagles will face off against the Jets next week in New Jersey, and if they lose that one, Kelly may have to go into hiding.
