The ‘It Me, College Football’ Podcast: Welcome Back, We’ve Missed You

It finally happened. Sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, I realized I was ready for college football. I don’t know if it was recording the podcast itself that did it, seeing Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck petting a horse in a tweet or reading a bunch of friends give their favorite college sports town food recommendations over at First We Feast (of which I was a part of), but it’s here.

I’m ready. And not a moment too soon, as games are starting, well, pretty much now. Good thing we got the inaugural edition of the “it me, college football” podcast up and running for you so you have time to listen and get amped up for the season. Week 1 is obviously a little strange as there are more Thursday and Friday games than normal (as well as a Monday game). But we did our best to break it all down for you.

In this episode, Robby Kalland of CBS Sports and I talk you through a bunch of different things heading into opening weekend, including:

  • What to expect in Year 1 under Jim Harbaugh for Michigan
  • That wild, wacky North Carolina-South Carolina game that should definitely hit the over
  • Whether or not TCU is ready for the heightened expectations
  • What to make of Virginia Tech and the ACC Coastal
  • Josh Rosen, UCLA’s new freshman starting QB (read our #exclusive profile of him)
  • Texas A&M playing Arizona State in what should be maybe the most fun game of the weekend
  • Louisville-Auburn
  • Plus more fun

So kick back and enjoy it. This is the first episode, so we’re bound to screw some stuff up and need improvements. Hit us up always, whenever, wherever on Twitter (@rkalland & @martinrickman) with thoughts, questions, suggestions, and pep talks. We’re really excited about the season and to bring you this podcast here at Uproxx Sports. Roll Tide.

Special thanks to the band Annabel for our intro and outro music. They’re really great, you should buy their music at their internet website or perhaps see them play a show sometime.
