Kent State Unleashed a Massive Two-Yard Punt Against Minnesota

Kent State was giving Minnesota all the Golden Gophers could handle well into the fourth quarter.

However, the Golden Flashes didn’t do themselves any favors on this play as Kent State punter Anthony Melchiori managed a net of just two yards on his punt attempt from midfield.

Melchiori got plenty of height on his kick but the distance, well, not so much.  To make matters worse, the ball took a crazy backwards bounce and Kent State’s special teams unit couldn’t corral bringing it from where it landed around the 25-yard-line all the way back to the 40.

All of this is good news for Idaho State, whose reign of worst punt of the season lasted for less than 24 hours.
