Ronda Rousey Says She’s Awfully Tired Of Dissing Floyd Mayweather

Ronda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather have been fussin’ and a feudin’ for months now. But will all that end now that Floyd has retired from boxing? Boxing magazine The Ring had a sit down interview with Ronda Rousey on the subject and it sounds like the UFC champion is getting bored with the war of words between her and the boxing great.

“I see all these people [saying] ‘Keep Floyd’s name outta your mouth, you’re just using him for attention!’ But you know what, the thing is, I’ve been as respectable as possible when it comes to his boxing and who he is as an athlete. I’ve never said a bad thing about it. I still think he’s one of the greatest boxers of all time.

“I’m more of a response kind of a person. And I felt disrespected at a point, and that needs a response, and I responded to it. And it’s not like I walk into things, ‘Hey everyone, let’s talk about Floyd!’ I respond to questions that I’m asked. And I responded to his actions. Until that, every time I was asked, ‘He’s a great boxer.’ And that’s it, y’know.”

“I’m not trying to provoke anything. With everything going on, I don’t need his name for attention. I’m getting plenty of attention doing other things, yknow? If anything it’s getting a bit repetitive to a point where what am I really getting out of it? Nothing.”

And as for who would win a potential fight between the two, Ronda reiterated her “I could beat anyone in the world” stance, but with an important addendum:

“I don’t think any co-ed combat sports event is a good idea.”

Well, there goes our dream of seeing Ronda Rousey in some sort of Battle of the Sexes type competition. Fortunately, Ronda has kept the war of words pretty interesting, winning many rounds 10-8 with epic blasts like this:

Floyd Mayweather, we’ll miss you … if only because it was entertaining listening to Ronda Rousey savage you.
