Terrell Suggs Tore His Achilles Tendon In The Ravens Season Opener And Will Be Out For The Year

After a slog snore fest of a game in which the Ravens eventually lost, the day was summed up with even more bad news for Baltimore as it was revealed Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles tendon in the fourth quarter.

Suggs is, of course, the longtime linebacker and pass rushing star for the Ravens defense, the de-facto leader ever since Ray Lewis left to go preach at ESPN.

This is not the first time Suggs has torn his Achilles, as he tore his other one during the 2012 offseason. He helped lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory the following year and has played at a high level since, so while Suggs may be gone for 2015 there is hope that the 32-year-old stud can make a full recovery.

That said, having two surgically repaired Achilles tendons probably isn’t the best injury history for a football player in his 30s. In the meantime, the Ravens are going to need to figure out how to fill the now gaping hole in their front seven.

Suggs will probably donate some of his extra gums to repair the tendon.
