Korean Baseball Continues To Produce Bonkers Bat Flips

By now, it’s been established that the Korean Baseball Organization is the home of ridiculous bat flips. They just do it better over there, probably because they don’t waste as much time prattling on about “respecting the game.” The KBO is having playoffs just like MLB right now, so just like Jose Bautista, when a player has a big moment, he feels justified in stunting a little bit. And we’re not here to tell him he’s wrong.

This time, it was Oh Jae-Won of the Doosan Bears who crushed a pitch to dead center, and flung his damn bat overhanded, like it was a throwing axe. That thing might have landed in the stands.

That is just violent, savage glory. In truth, the announcers’ reactions are almost as good as the flip itself. They literally burst into song at the joy of Oh’s dinger! Korean baseball is way more fun than American baseball; this much is fact.

This was back on Sunday, and the Bears, clearly inspired by Oh’s gargantuan bat flip, went on to blank the NC Dinos 7-0. The Dinos got their revenge on Wednesday, however, winning by a score of 16-2. No matter, though. The Bears have clearly already won the KBO championship on style points alone.
