Bill Snyder has been the head coach of Kansas State for over a quarter-century at this point, and he is pretty well regarded for being one of the most well respected coaches in the game.

Part of the 76-year-olds charm is his propensity to write hand-written notes to opposing players to congratulate them on a job well done.

Just last week, Snyder wrote one to Oklahoma State kicker Ben Grogan for booting home the game-winning field goal that propelled the Cowboys past the Wildcats, and Snyder was back at it this week when he congratulated TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin on his magnificent game last week which helped TCU remain undefeated in a 52-45 win over Kansas State.

The note reads:

Congratulations again Trevone. Proud of you as a Person & Leader as well as a great player. Admire your performance & poise in bringing your Team back to win our game. Success & good fortune. Please share my congratulations with your teammates. They were excellent in coming back in the 2nd half. Coach Snyder.

Other than using some random capital letters for no apparent reason, it’s a pretty classy gesture from Snyder, whose team did well battling a much more talented team to even be in it that late.

Boykin will likely be in the running for a Heisman Trophy and has hopes for a BCS National Championship at TCU as well, but if none of that works out for him, at least he knows he has the respect of old-man Synder up in Manhattan.
