The best check from Thursday night’s slate of NHL action may have come from a goaltender. Yes, a goaltender.

Montreal Canadiens netminder Carey Price finally got his revenge on New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider by leveling him behind Price’s net during the third period of the their matchup in Montreal. Kreider, of course, was the Rangers player who injured Price by crashing into the goalie (as he often does) during their 2014 playoff series and knocking him out of the series, which New York would go on to win.

One might assume that Price’s memory isn’t so short and he may have enjoyed exacting some revenge on Kreider after taking him out hard on Thursday night. The long staredown the goalie gave Kreider afterwards would also help such an assumption.
