A Mets Fan Called Into The Mike Francesa Show And Cried On-Air

Will in Queens called into the Mike Francesa show on Sunday morning and, like a lot of Mets fans, he’s having a rough day because of the team’s loss on Saturday night to Los Angeles in Game 2 of the NLDS. Will does not want to talk about the dirty slide by Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley in the seventh inning of the game which led to a broken leg for Mets infielder Ruben Tejada, which makes sense because that was a horrible play that ended Tejada’s season.

Instead, Will wants to shift the attention to Game 3, which is at Citi Field. Starting the game for New York will be Matt Harvey, who, uh, hasn’t exactly endeared himself to Mets fans lately – Will even said that he’s been disgusted with The Dark Knight of Gotham. There was the back-and-forth between the Mets and Harvey about his innings limit, and earlier this week Harvey missed a mandatory workout because he was allegedly stuck in traffic.

Still, Will knows that a lot depends on the golden right arm of the 2013 All-Star, and he thinks that this is Harvey’s “one chance” to carry the squad in a huge game and restore the faith that Mets fans would love to have in him. Will was so passionate about this that he began crying and, while it was cool to see how much this fan cared, Francesca was kinda freaked out by some dude calling into his radio show and crying on a Sunday morning.
