This College Team Pulled Off An Unbeliveable Behind-The-Back Throw To Convert A Fake PAT

In a direct antithesis to the Colts fake punt from earlier this season, D-III college St. Thomas may have pulled off the single greatest fake point-after attempt in football history on Saturday.

To break it down, first they lined up in the usual PAT formation, but just before the ball was snapped, the kicker runs in motion tricking the defense into thinking the holder would pitch it to him. As the defense reacted to that, one of the ends breaks for the end zone and the holder  fakes the pitch to the kicker, and then flips the ball behind his back into the endzone where it is caught for a 2-point conversion.

No matter how many times I watch that, I still can’t believe they actually pulled it off. The craziest part about it is that the defense was barely even fooled on the fake-pitch to the kicker so the behind-the-back flip had to be thrown perfectly for it to be converted.

St. Thomas is the No. 5-ranked team in the country, is unbeaten, and would go on to win this game 80-3, so I guess when you’re beating teams by 70 you can afford throw in some ridiculous trickeration from time-to-time.
