Check Out This Insane Wind-Assisted Goal In A Soccer Game

Well, this is some kind of dark magic. According to Vice Sports, this is an amateur Isthmian League match between Thurrock and Romford. None of that really matters, of course. The only thing that’s important here is how the ball, mid-air, completely changes direction thanks to a gust of wind and goes over the goalkeeper’s head for a goal.

Sports are funny sometimes. Sure, there’s always a certain amount of luck, good or bad, that goes into winning or losing. That’s the human (or natural) element of it all. Yet, sports are almost entirely about physical and mental preparation. Athletes train relentlessly 365 days a year to perfect their craft. They are driven by losses and vow to be better this year than they ever were at any point the year before. And the year before that. And the year before that. Coaches spend hours upon hours watching tape and considering offensive and defensive schemes. They look for any one thing, no matter how small, that might give them an advantage. All of this is done so that one game might turn into one win, and that one win might turn into two and so on and so forth. It’s all done in the name of winning.

But, sometimes, you have to come to terms with the fact that God doesn’t want you to win.
