Did Mike Ditka Curse The Packers By Wearing Their Sweater In A McDonald’s Commercial?

Two weeks ago, the Green Bay Packers were one of five teams in the NFL that were still undefeated with a record of 6-0. Things were going smoothly for Aaron Rodgers and his crew, who were largely-regarded at the time as the leading Super Bowl contender in the NFC.

Fast-forward two weeks, and things are looking quite a bit different. First came their loss last weekend in Denver, where Rodgers was held to only 77 yards passing in a dominating performance by the Broncos defense. Then, on Sunday in Carolina, they lost their second game in a row, and frustrations boiled over to the point where players were getting into fights on the sidelines on national television.

So, what’s the common denominator in all this? Well, Mike Ditka, of course.

Before their game against Denver, Ditka made headlines in Chicago for appearing in a McDonald’s commercial donning a Packers sweater. Some Bears fans were shocked at the visual, of which Ditka defended the only way he knows how — by telling them to “get a life.” But perhaps the move is further evidence that Ditka may just be a subtle genius, and it was all just a ruse to get inside the collective heads of the Bears’ biggest rival.

The Packers have not won a game since the commercial first aired, and now find themselves in second place in the NFC North. Meanwhile, the Bears are coming off a win over the Chargers on Monday Night Football.

Speaking of MNF, guess who was the only panelist on ESPN’s pregame show who picked the Bears prior to their game on Monday night. I’ll give you one guess:
