This man is the worst thief in America.
If you’re going to steal something from one of the greatest athletes on Earth, at least have the decency to plot your deviant act with some guile. Look at him; really look at him. When Williams approaches the thief, he looks like a small child who just got caught stealing a cookie before dinner. Serena politely asking a petty thief if he accidentally took her phone is a bigger flex than anything she’s done on the court. This thief needs to take a long look in the mirror and reevaluate his career path.
The seven-time Wimbledon champ has superhero abilities, so this man had no chance from the start. However, Serena’s vivid telling of the story leads us to believe that this thief is the amateur of all amateurs. He’s lucky that Serena’s sidekick, Quailman, wasn’t by her side to fight petty crime. It’s almost as if this man wanted to be caught just to have a singular moment with the greatest tennis player on Earth. Honestly, who could blame him? Most people will never get an opportunity to meet their favorite superhero.
Luckily for this thief, Super Serena uses her powers for good, not evil.
