After breaking his collarbone on September 20, Tony Romo went silent. He didn’t say a word on social media. He updated fans the next day about his condition, thanked them for their support, but that was it. The quarterback said “adios” to Twitter for two whole months.

Then on Tuesday, he reappeared in glorious fashion, returning with the “we’re gonna win the whole damn thing” scene from Major League.

This is a wonderful use of social media.

The Cowboys have not won a game since Romo’s injury. Coincidentally, they also haven’t won a game since Greg Hardy was activated… but I digress.

They’ll need to likely win out for any chance at the playoffs. And sure, that’s probably not going to happen, but lesser-than teams have done it. In 1995, the Detroit Lions started 0-3 (then 3-6) and rallied to win their last seven games to go to the playoffs. That squad had Barry Sanders and Herman Moore, but wasn’t nearly as good on defense as this year’s Cowboys. And Romo is certainly a better option than the venerable Scott Mitchell.

So, I guess what I’m saying is, maybe don’t count the Cowboys out just yet. Stranger things have happened in the NFL.
