Tevin Coleman Slipping In The Shower Is The Latest Terrible Thing To Happen To The Atlanta Falcons

Given that the Atlanta Falcons’ season has officially fallen into a manhole, it only makes sense they hit every ladder rung and object on the way down. Thursday, head coach Dan Quinn said rookie running back Tevin Coleman is being tested for a concussion after slipping in the shower:

Coleman started the year well with 80 yards in the season opener against Philadelphia. However, the following week, he sustained a fractured rib against the New York Giants. Second-year player Devonta Freeman then took over, but he’s missed some time with a concussion. That paved the way for Coleman to make a big return with 110 yards rushing against the Vikings last month. That the Falcons have a respectable rushing attack at all despite the setbacks is the silver lining.

Still, what a hellish season it’s been for Atlanta. After starting 5-0, the Falcons have lost seven of their last nine games, including an embarrassing shutout loss to the Panthers; the only two wins came against Tennessee and Jacksonville, neither of which is close to being any good. The Falcons were also hosed by an incomplete pass ruling in October against Washington, because no one in the NFL knows what is or isn’t a catch, and Roddy White once said he didn’t want to block for anyone.

If anyone needs a Merry Christmas, it’s the Falcons. So, here’s hoping Atlanta gets some holiday cheer this Sun—oh, crap, they have to play the Panthers.
