The ‘It Me College Football’ Podcast, Week 17: A Very Merry Coaching Season

Happy Holidays, everyone. We’re glad we get to share this season with you and hope to be there for seasons to come, football and otherwise. Hopefully you’ll get some solid family time and watch some bowl games maybe, too. This week’s it me, college football was recorded LIVE during the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl, which was neat because how often do you get a bowl game in the Bahamas presented by Popeyes? (The answer is once a year now, thankfully.)

To celebrate all the greatness that is this special week, we bring in good friend Bobby Big Wheel, who was excited and amped up to talk about coaching season, which we didn’t really do on any other podcast for some reason. So, it worked out great.

We discussed among other things:

  • Nick Saban’s large adult sons taking over the SEC East
  • The Mast chocolate thing and Frank Beamer being the most #BeanToBar head coach (also known as #BeamToBar)
  • The Bahamas Bowl bringing offense together for the world to see
  • Mark Richt ending up looking great after his move to Miami
  • Les Miles
  • Bronco Mendenhall and Virginia
  • The Maryland coaching Voltron and how we’re hoping D.J. Durkin has lots of success
  • The potential of Jason Whitlock as new Ball State head coach
  • Which coach would be best at a Waterworld scenario?
  • Pitt, the NyQuil of college football
  • Rappers doing Christmas things
  • DJ Khaled

As always, comments and tweets are always welcome. Subscribe to us on iTunes, too! You can find Robby at (@rkalland) and Martin at (@martinrickman). And Mr. Wheel is at (@BobbyBigWheel). Football is great and so are friends, but football is always better with friends.

Special thanks to the band Annabel for our intro and outro music. They’re really good. You should buy their music at their website or perhaps see them play a show some time.
