Watch Texas’ Kerwin Roach Posterize A Poor Texas-Arlington Player

The Shaka Smart era at Texas hasn’t gotten off to the cleanest start. Heading into Tuesday night, the Longhorns were 2-3 and coming off a tough loss to Michigan. Still, Texas does have some young talent making an immediate impact. One of those players is freshman guard Kerwin Roach, a former 4-star prospect according to 247Sports. Roach gained some notoriety earlier this fall by showing some ups in practice. Against Texas-Arlington Tuesday night, Roach showed his vertical wasn’t reserved for practice with no one around to defend him. Check out this vicious dunk on a UT-Arlington defender. Keep in mind, too, Roach is listed at 6’4″.

For what it’s worth, the Mavericks are no slouch. They’ve already beaten Ohio State and Memphis this year and as far as mid-majors go, UT-Arlington looks like it can easily surpass its low preseason ranking in the Sun Belt.

But, anyway, that’s neither here nor there. Just sit back and watch Roach posterize this guy over and over again. The 2015-16 college basketball season is young yet, but Roach is an early clubhouse leader for dunk of the year.
