60 Reasons To Be Thankful For Football

Every year football’s reputation seems to get worse. Disregard for player safety. Teams holding cities hostage for stadium money and threatening to move. The complete joke of a justice system in both the NFL and the NCAA. Players who are horrible people getting support because they’re good. The increasingly convoluted rules that result in more blown calls (what even is a catch these days? Does anyone even know anymore?). The disgusting price of tickets. The partnerships with sketchy Daily Fantasy sites. Thursday Night Football with the Jaguars and Titans. Colleges covering up rape accusations to protect the football program. The Redskins name. Everything about Roger Goodell.

We spend so much time focusing on these negatives (rightfully so) that it makes us question why we love this sport so much. Well with this holiday of thanks, maybe it’s time we sat back and looked at exactly what keeps us coming back week after week, why we can’t pry ourselves from this sport and continue to feed the beast.
