Alex Ovechkin is no stranger to highlight-reel goals. The Washington Capitals forward and captain has already had a wonderful career full of insanely impressive goals, and he didn’t wait long to submit his first of this new season.

The Caps took on the New Jersey Devils at home in their first game of the season on Friday night and Ovechkin immediately went to work as one of the league’s best goal scorers. A little less than halfway through the third period, Ovechkin took the puck end-to-end, dangled a poor Devils defender, and then sniped it top shelf to give Washington a 3-2 lead as the crowd went nuts.

Another season brings another year of the Alex Ovechkin show. Buckle up and enjoy it, folks.
