This Vikings Player’s Valentine’s Day Gives Hope To Cheap Daters Everywhere

If you’re on a budget, Valentine’s Day is one of the worst days of the year. You have to buy your significant other a gift as a tangible sign of your love, plus there’s the bill that comes from whatever you have to do that night. Dinner and a movie? There goes at least $100. If you go to a fancy steakhouse or something, it could be way more than that.

For Minnesota Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo, the amount of money that people spend on food on Valentine’s Day is out of hand. To combat this, instead of going to a nice Italian restaurant or a seafood place on February 14, Sendejo and his date decided to do the financially sensible thing and spend their V-Day at a McDonald’s. Who needs a delicious, medium rare porterhouse for two and truffle mashed potatoes with a bottle of wine when you can go get a McDouble and a Coke for a fraction of a price?

The orders look like a Happy Meal, a hash brown, and a few coffee drinks, which had to have cost less than $15. Add in the fact that there were balloons, how there’s no way he forked over a ton of cash, and the fact that neither person will ever forget this, and it’s pretty safe to say that Sendejo had a great Valentine’s Day.
