Watch Army’s Emotional Postgame Celebration After Beating Navy For The First Time In 15 Years

You may never see a scene like the one at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday afternoon. For the first time since 2001, Army took down Navy in a college football game. It was fantastic – the Black Knights’ triple option carved up Navy’s defense to the tune of 316 rushing yards en route to a thrilling 21-17 victory.

The final moments of the game showed what makes Army vs. Navy so special. The shots of the crowd showed a range of emotion from the euphoria of Black Knights to the absolute devastation by Midshipmen. Once Army quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw took his final knee of the game, the cadets from West Point hopped onto the field to celebrate. The scene on the field as Army sang their alma mater was unforgettable.

We always hear about how this game is so special. That was on display on Saturday. This was especially the case after, when Army coach Jeff Monken was joined on CBS by a few players for a postgame interview. Instead of answering a bunch of questions, they just hugged each other and screamed “We beat Navy” after being asked “What was it like to soak coach in the Gatorade finally?”

Here was the postgame celebration from the perspective of Army’s sideline.

Between this and the tearful goodbye that Verne Lundquist gave college football fans, we were treated to an incredibly emotional college football game. As always, when college football is at its best, few things are better.
