Bruce Pearl coaching college basketball again is something that should be celebrated, and this video confirms it. The Auburn basketball coach sauntering around in a blonde wig while lip syncing — rather poorly — to Taylor Swift just warms my heart.
Pearl put on this act during Monday night’s AUSPYs — Auburn University’s award ceremony that honors achievements in athletics and academics. His lip syncing battle opponent was Auburn women’s soccer coach Karen Hoppa, who chose Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name” as her song while rocking a jean jacket and Guitar Hero guitar.
I still say Pearl won the battle, but maybe I’m a little biased given my affinity for his stage presence ever since this video of him rapping shirtless at University of Tennessee’s VOLSCAR Awards Ceremony in 2009 surfaced. Never leave us again, Pearl.
