Check Out This Incredible Back-And-Forth Badminton Rally

Badminton is a sport that most Americans only play in their backyard during a barbecue or when they were in gym class, but the game is much more popular in other parts of the world, especially Asia, and us North Americans may want to pay some closer attention to the sport if it is producing rallies like this one.

In a match at the 2015 Denmark open between Malaysian Lee Chong Wei and Hong Kong native Wei Nan, the two men engaged in a remarkable near 50-second long rally in which they rebuffed the others’ attempt at a winner time and time again with some remarkable saves, before Wei was able to secure the point much to the astonishment of both the crowd and the match announcers.

With the games in Rio just around the corner, this rally gets me pumped for the many summer afternoons I will spend watching whatever random Olympic sport that’s on, with badminton right at the top of the list. It’s still behind handball, though. Nothing is better than handball.

If you really want to start your badminton fever early, you can watch the entire match between Lee Chong Wei and Wei Nan, here.
