Michael ‘Venom’ Page is one of the most devastating knockout artists in mixed martial arts today. The only reason he doesn’t get his due is because he’s fighting in Bellator instead of the UFC. But make no mistake, the guy is an artist and violence is his medium.

While he typically takes his opponents out on their feet with flashy maneuvers, Page switched things up a little on Friday night at Bellator 144. He brought his victim, Charlie Ontiveros, to the mat and finished him off with brutal elbows 3:40 into the first round. Ontiveros had his jaw broken in the onslaught and verbally submitted.

Page was a heavy favorite going into this fight, and Bellator head honcho Scott Coker may have a harder time finding another lamb to lead to the slaughter after what happened to Ontiveros on Friday. Or not … considering Page’s other finishes look like this:

…and this:

Now, people should know that he’s bringing the hurt to every fight. The win pushes Page to 9-0, and one has to wonder when the promotion is going to start putting him against stiffer competition. Bellator’s welterweight division has a number of opponents he could face, from interesting names like Josh Neer and Paul Daley to deep water guys like Douglas Lima and champ Andrey Koreshkov. As much as I enjoy seeing ‘Venom’ smash opponents, it’s time to give him a real challenge.
