An MMA Fighter Followed-Up His Flying Knee KO With A ‘Pokemon Go’ Celebration

We knew Michael “Venom” Page was going to do something spectacular in the cage at Bellator 158, but we just didn’t know what, exactly. The guy is a ninja. He’s a ninja with alien blood running through his veins. He’s also an entertainer, and won’t let anyone get in the way of his showboating, which he has officially brought to a new level. After dropping Cyborg Santos with a flying knee, Page ran to his cornermen who tossed him an Ash Ketchum hat and a Pokéball with which he proceeded to “catch” Cyborg, who was being attended to by cage side doctors.

This is how you celebrate winning a fight. Incredible. Pokemon Go is now invading mixed martial arts, and for whatever reason, it works. At UFC 200, I was hoping someone would actually try to catch a Pokemon in the cage while a fight was going on, but it wasn’t meant to be. At least Bellator gave us this absolutely ridiculous moment in the history of MMA, and of course, Michael Page was the one to deliver it to us.

Page is now 11-0 with 10 finishes. He’s also caught flack for not being booked against the toughest opponents. Will he finally fight someone with a high CP now that he’s captured Cyborg?

UPDATE:

It turns out MVP did some serious, serious damage to Cyborg.
