Primanti Bros Sent The Bills A Stockpile Of Sandwiches For Beating The Jets

The bitter taste of a lost season is still present in the mouths of the Buffalo Bills and their alarmingly flammable fans. The upside? An influx of celebratory sandwiches from Pittsburgh might mask that taste for a day or two.

As a show of gratitude to the Buffalo Bills for topping the New York Jets 22-17 on Sunday and allowing the Steelers to sneak into the final AFC Wild Card spot, Pittsburgh’s Primanti Brothers chain has sent 80 sandwich kits to Rex Ryan’s squad. The boxes also included some T-shirts and Terrible Towels and the like because that’s how these things work.

The miracle of Twitter has allowed the world to see that this celebratory shipment has arrived at its destination in scenic western New York.

Primanti Brothers Operations Director Mike Mitcham talked to Pittsburgh’s CBS affiliate about the unique expression of gratitude.

“The Steelers in the playoffs, it’s a big deal. If the Jets would’ve won, what would we all be doing today? I don’t really know.”

Cincinnati will play host to Saturday night’s playoff clash between the Bengals and Steelers. Meanwhile, the Bills and Jets will spend that night wondering if Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman is still on the air before remembering that it is not.
