Cam Newton Freestyled For The Media Because He Is The Best

Super Bowl Media Day is now officially known as Super Bowl Opening Night Fueled By Gatorade, but it’s basically the same event filled with the same weird people and the same weird interviews.

It’s no surprise that Cam Newton, quarterback of the Carolina Panthers and, in all likelihood, this year’s NFL MVP, drew a massive swarm of media to his podium during the event. What is a little surprising, however, is that someone asked him to bust out a freestyle rap, and he obliged.

Lindsey Adler of BuzzFeed managed to capture some of Cam’s “bars” and we’ve transcribed them for you.

I don’t think you got swag, because your shirt is yellow.

It should of been Carolina blue,

Something that you should of thought,

Something that you should of knew.

We chillin’ in the Super Bowl with a lot of media,

Man, I hate talkin’ to the media.

But it’s all good, it’s all great.

Man, I look at my team, man, them boys straight.

I’m straight out of College Park, by way of Atlanta.

You can see the towel on my head,

Some people call it a bandana.

Cam Newton and rap music, two things people love to complain are destroying our nation’s youth. What a perfect marriage.

Also, you can’t rhyme ‘media’ with ‘media.’ Don’t quit your day job, Cam.
