Cam Newton Had A Surprising Response To Odell Beckham Jr.’s Ridiculous Antics

The Giants were close, damn close to ending Carolina’s undefeated season on Sunday after scoring a late game-tying TD with over a minute left. But Cam Newton came back and did Cam Newton things on the final drive, putting the proverbial nail in the coffin with an unbelievable scramble for a first down with seconds remaining. That led to a Graham Cano chip shot field goal for the win.

But the focus after the game was the antics of Odell Beckham, Jr., who was flagged for three personal foul/unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. One of those penalties, a flying helmet-to-helmet block, might land the receiver in hot water with the NFL. Beckham’s insanity didn’t stop there however, as he mocked both Cam Newton and the Panthers with his celebrations in the 4th quarter.

First, the Newton dab.

Then the Allen Iverson stepover after the TD.

In a post-game interview with Erin Andrews, Cam addressed Beckham’s shenanigans in a somewhat PC manner.

“Anyhoo, I don’t want to make it personal.”
“I mean it’s obvious what he did. It’s cool, it’s all in the game.”
“It’s cool, we just having fun.”

Then he hugged it out with Beckham and the two appeared to share some pleasantries.

But Newton doesn’t speak for the whole team, certainly not CB Josh Norman who took the brunt of Beckham’s stupidity throughout the game.

The Giants are on the outside looking in for the playoffs and would likely need to win out and get some serious help to get a Wild Card spot. So the odds of these two teams meeting again this year are low. Which sucks. The NFL desperately needs these two teams to go at it again, if only to see the pre and post game drama/fights/trash talk.
