A pair of Cleveland Browns players are in a bit of hot water after they were arrested on Christmas. Linebacker Armonty Bryant and safety De’Ante Saunders were taken in by police after a traffic stop early in the morning, as Saunders was cited for driving under the influence because he was going 75 miles per hour in a 60 mile per hour zone. Bryant was in the car with Saunders, who refused to take a breathalyzer test.

Additionally, there was a gun in the car, according to patrol spokesman Lt. Craig Cvetan. This could be an issue because Cvetan said that Saunders doesn’t have a concealed weapons permit.

Here is a statement released by Browns GM Ray Farmer:

“These are charges that we take very seriously,” Farmer said. “The importance of responsible decision-making is something we continually stress to all members of our organization, which makes it extremely disappointing that these two individuals would put themselves in this situation by making such poor decisions.”

As a member of the team’s practice squad, Saunders wasn’t going to play this weekend against Kansas City regardless. Bryant is on the active roster, but he will not travel to Kansas City as punishment for this incident.
